July, 2004

Hello Members,

As always I would like to welcome our newest members for this year. The weather has been so cooperative over the past few weeks that I am sure everyone has had their Viper out and about.

I want to thank everyone that made it to the All-Chrysler Nationals on July 10th in Carlisle. What a turnout, 48 Vipers, all three generations and just about every color. The weather was great and Viper Quarterly Magazine was there to get a group shot. If you didn’t make to out to join us this year be sure to mark it off for next year mid-July (we’ll post the date as soon as we know).

Also coming up is the 2nd Annual Tri-State Quaker Steak & Lube Viper Cruise-in on August 21st. This event is sponsered by the Ohio Viper Club, a flyer is attached. We will be meeting for this road trip in the Cranberry Township area and then heading up I-79 to Erie, PA for the lunch and a cruise around Presque Isle. The Ohio and New York clubs are planning to spend the night at the Days Inn near Conneaut Lake Park and attend activities at the Park and Beach Club. Our plans were to return in time to attend the Flashlight Drags & Cruise-in at the Zelienople Airport. The Flashlight Drags start at 6PM and run till 10PM, it’s street racing without the jail time. There are some rules but the drags are mostly for fun. You can check out the website and see some of the pictures from last years Hot Rod Circus (www.alteredgas.com) It is also a Cruise-in and you can park and check out the other cars. Please contact Rege or Donna if you plan to join us for the Trip to Erie, Drags and or Cruise. (724)316-9343 or rt10@pawvviper.com.

And of course there is the update on the VOI.8. We made a trip to Dallas and got a preview of the Garylord Texan and the Texas Motor Speedway the beginning of June. What a great Hotel, it just opened April of this year and it has plenty to do. The track is 20 minutes away and there will be a lot of different racing venues. This year there will be covered and secured parking for 600 cars and it will be on a first come basis. There were 500 cars registered by mid-June so if you have not submitted your application get a move on. On Friday night we have a Viper members only party at Billy Bob’s, a country western bar loaded with unique western style entertainment.

Also for later in September, the NY/CT Region is planning a Viper weekend getaway at Woodloch Pines Resort in Hawley, Pa (east of Scranton,PA) attached is a flyer with all the information and it sounds like a good time, please contact Rege or Donna if you plan to attend (724) 316-9343.

Happy Vipering,
