Christmas Newsletter 2007

On Saturday September 8th, several members of the PA WV club joined the NJ club on their annual “Let’s Roll Cruise”.  This year they took their cruise on the road to Shanksville PA, the site of the crash of Flight 93.  We had a total of ten Vipers and two additional vehicles representing the PA WV club for this cruise.  As delegates of the Viper Club of America, we remembered those who perished in the 911 attacks, as well as their families and friends, by placing a wreath and 911 VCA stickers at the memorial site.  Thanks to Bobby Cerchione for organizing this rewarding event.  Thanks also to Rege & Donna Kort for their assistance in setting up the luncheon.

We experienced beautiful weather for the third annual cruise/poker run to the PA Grand Canyon.  The drive up to Wellsboro from Williamsport was great!  The Penn Wells lunch was outstanding again this year.  Earlier that week Ginger and I discovered what we thought to be some “unfriendly” Viper road conditions.  Therefore, we decided to hire the Tioga Trolley for the ride on up to the Canyon. It turned out to be a nice ride.  During our unexpected fuel stop just outside of Wellsboro someone noticed that Al Berman had a flat tire.  Thanks to all that helped Al get the “donut” on his Viper.  The cruise carried on while Ginger, in her “Viper Van” guided Al to a local friend who was able to patch the tire and get it back on the car.   Everyone enjoyed the cruise back down Route 15 and then on up the Rose Valley Hill Climb.  Special thanks go out to Rege and Donna Kort for pulling things together for the party back at the Hampton Inn.  Those that attended received a commemorative bottle of “Grand Canyon Concord” wine, made at Oregon Hill Winery in Morris PA.    We’re hoping to change this fall cruise a bit for next year.  There are many other roads in my area that are great for Viper cruises, however, the drive into the Canyon takes a chunk of time.  We are considering eliminating that part of the cruise in 2008 in an effort to experience more Viper driving time.

The annual VCA Regional Club President’s meeting will be held in Scottsdale AZ on January 18th in conjunction with the Russo & Steel and Barrett Jackson Auctions.  Ginger & I will be in attendance.    We should have news regarding this year’s VCA events (hopefully a VOI 10) to report to you all after this meeting.

Our annual “After the Holidays” party is currently in the planning stages.  Carmen and Vanessa Gullage have tentatively planned the event in the Harrisburg area on February 9th.  More information will be shared as it becomes available.

We have some new events planned for 2008.   More information will be shared as soon as the plans are finalized.   If you have an idea for an event, or would like to host an event, please let me know.

Mark your 2008 calendar for ALL CHRYSLER NATIONALS in Carlisle.  The date for that event is July 11-13.  Make plans now to attend…you won’t be disappointed!

Dues for 2008 are currently due.   In an effort to keep you on our mailing list, please submit your application and fee as soon as possible.  If you have not received your renewal application from Viper Headquarters please contact Kim at kvogt@jrthompson.com .

As we wrap up this year, I would like to thank all those who came out to participate in the various Viper events this year.  Ginger & I enjoyed spending time with all of you.  Special thanks are extended to all that came out to assist us in this year’s festivities.  Carmen, Ginger and I look forward being in the driver’s seat of YOUR Viper club again in 2008.

From our Viper garage to yours, we wish you all a safe, healthy, happy 2007!
